How do herbal remedies work?
Herbs contain thousands of substances called phytochemicals. These work together, having a synergic (compound amplified) effect on our body. Therefore a remedy or medicinal plant works better and has less or no side-effects than one individual, active substance that is extracted and used in concentrated and isolated form by pharmaceuticals - even those that are produced from natural plants.

How do homeopathic remedies work?
Homeopathy is based on the principle of similars. An active element (plant, mineral etc) is diluted to infinitesimal amounts of matter, achieving very high levels of energy during the process of dilution. In this state it is able of engaging the body's healing capacity. Sometimes an analogy with vaccines is used to explain the mechanism - although homeopathic remedies are very different from medicinal vaccines.

Do diet changes really influence my health?
We really are what we eat. Making diet adjustments will influence your health and wellbeing sooner than you think. But you do need to be committed and consistent.

Where will my Shiatsu session take place?
Your Shiatsu session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet office, equipped with firm foam floor mats. The floor mats allow full body relaxation and let the practitioner access from all sides and apply pressure using body weight.

How do I know Shiatsu therapy is working for me?
You will probably feel very relaxed after your session. For the rest of the day you may feel somewhat tired, but the day following your session you will feel more energy than usual. For old conditions, give it a few weeks of regular sessions. You will notice that symptoms/ flare-ups will become less frequent and less severe. Symptoms other than the ones that originally brought you to Shiatsu may be surprisingly alleviated. If you were on pain relievers, you may notice you can drastically reduce their consumption. Your joints' range of motion will gradually improve. If you decide to adopt dietary suggestions, you may be surprised by improvements in your digestive health.

Can Shiatsu help with an inherited condition?
Yes. It could be that you've inherited a condition, but it is also likely that you inherited certain unhealthy habits. During the Shiatsu session, the techniques used aim to alleviate your symptoms by improving the energy flow in your body, but in addition, the therapist will attempt to empower you by recommending proper diet, correct posture and exercise habits that will help you maintain proper balance and health.
